Aberdeen has long prospered off of sea-based industries, from the boom of the city's fishing industry in the early 20th century to its oil industry today; this museum explores the historic developments behind the city's maritime industries.

I have been meaning to visit this place for years & never got round to it, despite working a couple of hundred metres away, so last week I made the effort & I'm glad I did. It would be easy to spend several hours walking...More

Spread over 3 floors you get a great overview of the life of the sea and how Aberdeen has made full use of its harbour to help it grow. Theres also an interesting insite into the life on the oilrigs, with a scale model of...More

An odd duck of a museum that seems to be sponsored by the oil industry in order to promote oil's economic value to the city. Also, there is an entirely other side to the place which focuses on historical activities related to the old days...More

Great array of top notch artefacts, lots to learn, great for youngsters. Perfect location looking out over the docks too. Worth an hour or two of your time while being a tourist here in Aberdeen, especially when it's raining.
