It isn’t the easiest to get to but definitely worth the drive. Never too busy with lots of friendly people and pets. Has a few nice places not too far away to eat.

This beach is in an unusual location, it is near to houses but you would never think so once you are near the sea. It is a pleasant surprise and much like a maze to get to in some ways so if you like adventure...More

This is a superb sandy beach which is obviously very popular with locals and visitors alike. Despite the very cold weather we enjoyed the time we had and is a great spot at any time of the year.

Beautiful destination but disappointed that Aberdeen council don't allow entry to the car park for motorhomes. There is a small tarmac area at the bottom of beach road that can be used for parking your motorhome but only when it is quiet.

Undoubtedly much better than the beach in Aberdeen itself, so worth the drive north, but can be pretty windswept and bleak. The folk up here are used to the wind and rain, but tourists might find this area just a tad too wintry all year...More

Dragged the children (kicking and screaming) and the dogs (happy as larry) to Balmedie Beach for a good long walk, and I (and the mutts) enjoyed it. Check the tide first as there are places where high water comes right up to the dunes.

Great for summer picnics, dog walking, weekend walks, even the occasional dip in the North Sea! Ideal for getting out of Aberdeen for some fresh air
