Interesting museum packed with memorabilia from Oban's past. Lots of information about the town's involvement in the the war but also information about the history of the town and the fishing industry. Good film about Oban and the surrounding area runs on a loop so you can sit down and get a potted history in15 minutes. Staffed by very pleasant... More

Lots of interesting stuff in this museum - problem is they don't know what to leave out and so the place is crammed with stuff and it is difficult to move around. There were a couple of old boys there reminiscing about their war time and service memories and having a great time, but blocking the floor. Would have liked... More

This museum is more about war than peace but it is staffed by enthusiastic volunteers and packed with information. The photographs and stories displayed are of ordinary men and women and local, this makes it very interesting. There is a good DVD to watch that gives an overview of the locality.

This is worth a visit. The museum is small but holds a lot of memorabilia. I enjoyed the video and uniforms.

The museum is free and offers a small but solid review of military history. This is a nice spot to spend 30 mins or an hour.

I'm not really a huge fan of museums, especially on a sunny day when I'd rather be outside. However, we popped in to the Oban museum (which is free, although donations are welcome) and were rewarded with a good historic view of Oban, along with accompanying photographs. The museum staff also provided some interesting tales of the past.

Well worth a visit! A lot of old memorabilia and full of history! Staff are very nice and knowledgeable to. Good for children to learn and see old stuff. No charge for visit but you can make a donation if you like. Video footage to watch and learn about the area and neighbouring areas. Would definitely recommend this museum.

We decided to stop in and were so impressed by the amount of displays that had so lovingly been assembled. Maybe not a great stop for children, but fascinating for adults. Kudos to those who took the time and care to locate and create this display.
