A great little museum with loads of interesting stuff. OK the planes look a little bit tired, but there is a lot of work going on in the background to make it much better. Some of the exhibits brought back great memories and the staff very friendly. Take some time to visit, it's worth it.

Some lovely stuff here, and a very friendly, approachable staff. They are building new accommodation but in the meantime they have a what I think is the only F100 in Scotland, Rudolf Hess's flying goggles and a Red Bear nuclear weapon. What a mixture! Best of all, they have not succumbed to the fashion for infantilising museum's that seems to... More

Really enjoyed our visit here - very relaxed atmosphere, lots to see. My 89 year old father even managed to sit at the controls in the cockpit. Made his day! Very pleasant volunteer staff, would recommend a visit.

Spent about a hour here on wedsnesday. Good collection of planes not much commercial stuff there which is more my think rather than military. The trident is great to go have a look round plus the 747 100 engine is interesting to see. For £5 it is well worth it to go have a look round.

The museum is well sign posted from Dumfries. There is plenty of parking at the museum, the planes are a bit the worse for wear, a couple look like they have been hand painted, and not that well either. I would not make a special trip here, but if you are nearby have a look.

Dear John M I am sorry that you didn't enjoy your trip to the museum more. We are in the midst of a rolling program of preservation work on the aircraft to address the current state of the paintwork on some of the airframes. Being a small museum this is proving challenging whilst we also extend the site with new... More

Great the way is set out with all the planes, not good for climbing stairs for over 55 as they have different buildings to look at and Remember how the war offices were, and a great look around of the reminders of how the barracks and camp offices used to look

If you have some time to spare then this quirky place is worth a visit. There are quite a few planes on show and a large selection of parts from crashed or broken aircraft. There is also a WWII control tower. It looks a little bit run down but as this place is kept going with donations and the modest... More
