This is a beautiful place for a quiet walk along the sea. Plenty of space for dogs and toddlers :) Very pretty walk, you can chose to walk through the woods or along the beach or on the beach. Amazing views especially on a clear day. Whether out alone or with family, this is a nice place for walking, jogging or cycling. It is easy to get to and we have never struggled with parking.

The nature reserve itself continues on from the gardens at Broughty Ferry. Unfortunately the walk is not as well looked after as the adjoining gardens and is overgrown in parts. There are information boards to add interest and direction pointers until the west end where the path route becomes unclear.it seems to be an area for dog walkers which is not always good depending up on your feelings.

The Nature reserve starts just past the Glass Pavilion restaurant on the Esplanade and ends where the Barnhill Rock Garden begins. It is enclosed by the Esplanade on one side and the coast railway line on the other.
It’s a very pleasant nature walk with some information boards and part of the main path follows the route of the long lost local branch train line.

On a lovely sunny day, this place is ideal for a walk.
Being surrounded by nature and there is plenty to see along the way.
In fact, it is perfect regardless of the season as there is always something new to see.

Such a lovely little area to walk around with lovely flowers and plants and things to see. Best time of year to visit is definitely summer though!

Had a drive down to Broughty Ferry this afternoon with my daughter, and since we both enjoy walking, we decided to have a look for this Nature Reserve.
It is easy to find being situated on the Esplanade, and is also right bang next door to the Barnhill Rock Garden.
It was a nice tranquil walk amidst trees and greenery. There are sporadic benches to relax at during the walk. We saw dog walkers, and walkers during our visit. Not a huge area, or what we would consider to be a long walk, but pleasant nonetheless.
There is an information board within the Nature Reserve which points out the key areas.
All in all, quite an enjoyable visit.
