Brilliant museum within the castle. Free to get in (donation suggested). Range of displays and artefacts across the centuries. Your castle audio guide also works in here and gives interesting extra info at certain points. Very worth extending your castle to accommodate this museum as...More

I went to the National War Museum as I am very interested in the Scottish history and as it's inside of the Edinburgh castle which I planned to visit this day. It's indeed very impressive and it totally worth a visit!

It is awe inspiring. You have to go and see it to appreciate the sacrifice so many made. Respect to those who gave up their lives and respect to those who have made this memorial.

I had free tickets to the castle thru the Hop On Hop Off bus, this stop is worth checking out. It cant get cold up in the castle, bring gloves and a toque, and be sure to stop for tea!

It was amazing to see how the military had operated in history. The weapons and prisons worked. What different uniforms were in the past.

A concise and thoughtfully presented exhibition. As an Army wife I have been o lots of military museums. Even I found something to catch my eye and keep my interest. Worth a wander in.

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its

this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
