My husband and I are doing a sort of your of Scotland's best swimming pools (as seen in an independent article). While the Commonwealth is certainly a gorgeous place to view and the swimming facilities are fantastic the water is far too cold. Especially in the kids pool. We were not impressed. The changing rooms smell like they aren't too... More

Have visited for a swim a number of times. The timetable varies a lot but have always been able to swim. This visit the pool was at 50 metres long and 2 metres deep. Plenty of space in the lanes. Like that the pool allows plenty space for lane swimming. Water temperature is slightly lower than most but just keep... More

Not only diving but soft play, gym, vast spaces in the basement with all sorts of sports halls. Food is expensive though advise taking packed lunch if staying a while

Royal commonwealth gym had an upgrade this year in august and although on first look looks ok it has too much kit in it and a new multi function area in the middle that takes up to much space and if you go near it are pounced on by a gym staff especially if you use other kit with this... More

Visit here every other week, changing rooms always nice and clean, cheap entry for a 50 metre pool. Always visit the cafe afterwards as the foods nice and it's good value.

The "commy" was always the best place to take your baby for their first swimming experience. The water was warm and the shelving steps into the pool made it easy and safe to enter and exit the water while holding your infant. Since the refurbishment it is now a huge disappointment. The water is cold, my baby's lips were blue... More

Hi, Thank you for your review of the Commonwealth Pool. I'm sorry to hear you found the water temperature cold. We have that particular pool set at a higher temperature and the air temperature also set higher as it is predominantly used by babies and toddlers. Your feedback about the steps into the pool - since reading this I have... More

This pool forms part of Edinburgh leisure and is a good side for taking kids to swim, changing rooms have recently benefitted from a revamp which is great. Pool was not to busy and kids can use all parts. Only criticism would be the temperature of the pool an changing area. Very chilly and cold
