This place has been going since I was of legal drinking age back in the 80’s. If you like your rock loud, and live, then this is your bar. It can get very busy, but is well worth checking out :)

Went to see Wolfsbane. I can’t carry drinks as Im recovering from cancer. My wife went to the bar which is not in the part where the gig was. She was ignored by bar staff until she complained. In 2017, women shouldn’t be ignored in...More

The bar is very dark, quiet and quite rustic. The bartender was a sweetheart and very sociable. However, a clingy patron decided we were going to be his new best friend and would not leave us alone. No matter what we said to one another,...More

My boyfriend and I visited Bannermans a few times over Halloween weekend. We both loved it. We did watch a band but could hear them. Really good set up and lots of nice rums! Staff were very friendly and there was plenty of seating! Will...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its

that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
