Thought we would duck in for a quick beer and a sandwich. Not so fast. The food was slow coming out, but that left more time for people watching. Which was very entertaining.

Visited before the tattoo - small dining area upstairs but very efficient and short wait for table. Very good food and had a great view out the window to the streets below!

the only pub in that would allow our dog in. Good beer, wine , very good staff , the price was the same as every where else , so will be going back in a couple of weeks .

Good restaurant right on the royal mile. Was busy because it was festival season and waitress was not too friendly. But the food was nice and was not too expensive.

Visited after the Tattoo, great atmosphere, lots of fun people who were part of the whole occasion. Friendly staff and a good choice of ales. Only intended staying for a pint at 21:45 but finished up leaving at midnight. Will return next year. Thank you.

Wanted to eat here for a week but it was packed every time we went. The story about it is interesting so worth a try.

Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
