We visited here after going to the aquarium. Just a couple minutes drive into St. Andrews and easy to find. Parking is free and there is disabled parking. The grounds them self are well kept and the butterflies were good to go see. £5 per adult and children under 18 or 16 are free. Can't quite remember. Plus £2.85 per... More

Very peacefull place. I'm sure that in summer there is a lot more flowers to see than now but I enjoyed it anyway. Our visit was free(every first Friday of the month is free), we only paid for butterfly house.

Come to St Andrews all the time but never get past the beach and town. What a hidden gem the botanic gardens are. Greeted by a wonderful lady at the main gate who is full of information and boy can she multi task!!! Giving out info, selling tickets, running the cafe and gift shop and selling plants! And all done... More

Lovely staff and nice trip through butterfly house. Wasn't busy when we were there but at peak times could be quite crowded. Gardens probably not yet at there best but quite extensive. Another month might make a big difference. Nice ice creams from the shop

Wonderful variety of beautiful butterflies and a very nice gentleman full of interesting knowledge. Lovely coffee n carrot cake. enjoyable afternoon in a relaxed environment. My only complaint would be the toilets are not very clean.

We are glad you had a wonderful visit. For many the highlight of a trip is talking to the staff and volunteers we have in the Garden. The Butterfly House in particular relies on volunteers who spend a great deal of time hear and have deep knowledge that they are always keen to share. Our apologies that our facilities were... More

We are delighted you had a lovely time - we have been very fortunate with wonderful Spring weather over easter and this is a beautiful time for you to be in the Garden. I hope you found some of the Vanishing Acts displays interesting as you explored the Garden. The Butterfly House is just the same size as last year,... More

I studied at St Andrews over 20 years ago and knew of the gardens then but never visited them. Even on a chilly April afternoon these gardens are worth visiting and will be more so in the summer. Main attraction for us was the Butterfly House, which was simply enchanting and very informative. Mums and dads should note it welcomes... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit yesterday to the gardens. It was lovely to walk round & see what there is growing & imagine how wonderful it will look when the flowers bloom. The glass houses were very well stocked & we sat for a while enjoying the plants & flowers. There is a wooded area & a rock garden &... More

Today was the first day of the butterfly experience exhibit at the botanic gardens. The people who run it are extremely proud and deserving of a visit to experience their work. The gardens are just awaking from the winter and there are so many plantings to enjoy. A very short and lovely walk from the town center bring you to... More

Theresa, thanks for your review. We are delighted you enjoyed your visit and enjoyed the pleasant short walk from the town to the garden. It is a lovely walk in its own right, and with the garden located on historic lade braes, we often recommend visitors explore further if they have the time after a visit to us. More
