Joined a free guided tour at 1400H .No need to pre book. Just simply show up before 2pm and ask the lovely receptionist that you would like to join the tour. Our tour guide was very informative. Learned a lot as well as we went to each floor. The Chambers were mostly made of marble and was simply beautiful. Had... More

Lovely christmas carnival here from Nov-Dec. Right in city central near lots of shopping and pubs. Stop here at night and see the place lit up, very beautiful!

If you have an hour to spare through the week then turn up here and ask for a tour. The knowledgeable staff will proudly show you round this amazing building. It will take your breath away. The staircases are amazing. If the council aren't meeting then the tour takes in the Chambers. A worthwhile visit. You have walked past it... More

This is the Council headquarters building - but it is as good as any museum that you could visit. During the week you can turn at the foyer and the staff will provide a FREE tour of the building - it is fantastic! Most Glaswegians are completely unaware that the building is open for this kind of thing - and... More

Although it is an active city work building this beautiful place is also a gorgeous venue for events. We had a dinner in the building and the surroundings were spectacular. The marble, art and tile work are gorgeous and the carved wood and gilded painted ceilings gave us plenty to talk about at a table of fresh acquaintances. Stop in... More

A fantastic building full of interesting architecture and as opulent as it gets with marble everywhere, befitting of it's Victorian heritage as the 'Second city of the Empire' council chamber, which is still working. The greatest attraction is the Cenotaph directly outside on George Square.

Myself and my wife took the tour on a Tuesday morning at the end of October. As it was a week day in the off season the size of the group was nice and small (10 I believe). We were taken throughout the grand building and given a history lesson from the guide on when it was built, by who,... More
