We went to the necropolis after visiting the cathedral as they are next to each other. The necropolis is on top of the hill behind the cathedral which is a bit of a walk up to the top but there are many huge crypts and...More

Very nice views and not a long walk to the top. Too bad it is quite far from the centre of the city.

Great place to have a leisurely walk. Houses the gravestones of several famous scotspeople, dating back hundreds of years.

I imagine a cemetery would not be a travellers first choice to visit, but the Nacropolis is an incredible spot. The architecture of its buildings and the headstones can leave you in awe of the setting. Beautifully laid out with easy access pathways which are...More

Great place to walk around and see all the old grave stones. A must see in Glasgow. Great views of the city and lots of different paths to take and walk around. Lots of interesting people are in the necropolis. Worth a look at 👌🏻

I love to visit cemeteries and this one was better that your average. It is split into rich and poor areas although that doesn't apply to today's ideas. Lots of history about the people of Glasgow.

No, but you do not need it for the cemetery. For the city it would be appropriate to have but did not find something.

It can be as quick as 20 minutes if you like, or easily as long as 1hr if you prefer to meander through the graves and read some of the stones along the way. Either is rewarding!
