CairnGorm Mountain is a great place to visit at any time of year. Ride the UK's highest funicular to just below the summit of Cairn Gorm, enjoy a walk with a Ranger or on one of the self guided routes. In winter, enjoy great snowsports on 30km of pisted runs suitable for beginners to experts. Lunch at the UK's highest restaurant, shop for gifts or mountain essentials and depart with unforgettable memories of this unique place. The funicular will be closed for essential maintenance from 4th June to 4th July (inclusive) 2018. The storehouse and outfitters will remain open plus we will have additional guided walks to offer.

Forced to visit on a day with low cloud because of closing for maintenance. But even with cloud and fog at the summit it was an enjoyable trip with the train and driver.

I always like to come up "the mountain" as it gives me a sense of wonder every time. Fascinating to see it without snow.
