This wild and wonderful, secluded valley is a must for anyone visiting the Scottish Highlands. It is protected by a locked gate that keeps car number to a manageable level. It is hidden away far from the madding crowd - a private glen allowing only 25 cars daily through the padlocked gates - we were lucky if we saw half a dozen cars when we visited! Visted the strath countless times and every time just gets better from the woods at the bottom to wide open spaces its stunning Went over the 2 dams at the top to find more stunning views and a French. Man fishing for pike some of the. Biggest I've ever seen a great day out

Well what can I say?? Loved it and really didn't want to leave, if your looking for that little bit of paradise on your doorstep this is it. Forget glamour and superficial living, getting back to nature and the amazing scenery will heal any soul. Plenty of walks, fishing and areas just to laze about in. Will be back whenever... More

This is a hidden gem .The most spectacular scenery you can find, excellent wild life. A good selection of walks / cycling available to suit all. The only down side is midges so go prepared ! But don't let them put you off.

Firstly, the lady in the cottage who acts as gatekeeper was truly fantastic, issuing us a pass and allowing us access to the Glen. It's so critical that people are present who will continue to maintain access to these precious spaces for all- they do not deserve to be hidden away amongst the estates of the absurd. Cycled down to Monar Lodge from the Cnoc Hotel then headed along the lochside to climb An Sidhean - fantastic what an area! A great area for cycling, walking, birdwatching or fishing!!
