Water doesn't get much more mysterious than this 23 mile stretch running through the Great Glen in the Highlands of Scotland. There's no better way to experience Loch Ness than by boat. Jacobite's award winning tours and cruises get you onto the water and into the heart of this iconic landscape. This is a whole lot more than simply sight-seeing. We've been running trips on and around Loch Ness for over 30 years and most of us live here.

We took the 1 hour trip on Loch Ness which takes you up to Urquhart Castle before it turns around. A nice cruise although I recommend you dress warm so you can experience the upper deck of the boat which is outside. The on board audio is more difficult to hear inside on the lower deck. There is a bar... More

Although all our vessels have an indoor heated saloon a range of clothing is always recommended, especially if venturing outside! Thank you for taking the time to post to Trip Advisor, we've taken a note of your feedback. More

We did the one hour cruise + one hour Urquhart Castle. It was enough time on the actual loch for us, but you may want to do more than simply cruise to and from the Castle. It would be better to have more time at the Castle - I would recommend going directly to the Castle and getting the free... More

The Contemplation tour was perfectly fine. Nothing to rave about, but a good way to get on Loch Ness and see the Inverness area from the water. Our narrator was jovial and informed, and sang us a few songs. Regretfully the sound system is not good (and/or the other tourists were too loud) making it impossible to hear a lot... More

Cruising Loch Ness was beautiful and well worth the trip. But you can easily get to the dock by bus and skip the tour. The Loch Ness Centre and Exhibition were not particularly well done. Urquhart Castle was interesting to see but we didn't have time for a guided tour.

Looking for the monster? A good way to see Loch Ness and look for "Nessie" at the same time. Pleasant staff. Take a coat, the loch is cool even in the dead of summer.

The two hour cruise costing £20 per person is great value for money. There are also 1 hour and 3 hrs cruises offered by the company. This is the 3rd time I am going on this tour and I have seen this fully packed with tourists all the time. The first 2 hr cruise starts at 09:30 and it is... More

Booking in advance, especially in July and August, is always recommended! The 2 Hour Contemplation Cruise is certainly growing in popularity. Great cruise, great views and plenty to see along the way. Even just the departure point of Dochgarroch Lock is a very pretty little place. Great to hear you're still enjoying it. The majority of our guests only visit... More

We really loved it. The narrator brought the whole trip to life and told us so many interesting things about the Loch and the legends and everything else. He was the best thing. But just being out on the water instead of driving alongside, was SO much better. It was beautiful. And we got to cruise a tiny bit of... More
