Good to see where the River Ness runs into Loch Ness and the weir sarating it from the Caledonian Canal.

Reminded us of a clean Venice with no crowds. Lovely views; peaceful walk along the riverside. Trees were budding and there were a few people playing music. Lots of restaurants along the path with views of the river.

On one side of the Loch from Fort Augustus passing Urquhart Castle to Inverness is the main road (A82) but return on the B862/B85 and you will be rewarded with stunning views of Loch Moy and Loch Ness and the mountains.

Had a stroll by the river ness and you will see the culture of Scotland. You can find good food and hotel nearby with reasonable price. Went for a morning walk and it is so serene with beautiful scenery.

As part of our tour with Jamie & Claire Tours, we took a boat ride on the River Ness. It was informative, fun (our tour group was awesome) and we had the opportunity to see Urquhart Castle. Sadly, no Nessie sightings!

A really lovely way to get to the town centre, paths and bridges linking the islands and the banks of the River Ness. We walked it both in the daytime and at night when it is lit up with different coloured lights. There are lots of benches where you can sit and take in the great views and watch the... More

Beautiful river passing in front of our Columba Hotel in Inverness. Suitable for a casual walk. Part of the famous Loch Ness.

Joining the Moray Firth with Loch Ness, the river runs through the city (Inver = City on, and Ness for the River) of Inverness dumping into Loch Ness. Very clean with many pathways created on both sides make this a scenic and enjoyable walk.

Walking along the river ness is really nice and easy as there are lots of bridges and paths. There were several benches as well if you want to stop and view the lovely scenery. It's very clean and well kept. It was absolutely beautiful, particularly when you get down towards the ness islands.

Lovely riverbank walks in the centre of Inverness with amazing views. The river doesn't seem too far from anywhere and it allows a bit of respite from the traffic and the bustle of the shopping areas. Spring is such a great time for this sort of activity in the Highlands and the walks lead naturally to some of the historic... More
