So close to Fort William it is well worth visiting. Only takes about 15 minutes to wonder round and read the boards - very interesting.

We stopped here on the spur of the moment and found the castle is now just ruins, but we found it all quite interesting. There are very good information boards scattered around the ruins, which explain what the various areas had been used for. Great...More

Definitely take a few minutes to leave the trail and checkout the castle. It's just off the trail and not very large. They are in the process of restoring and adding history information tidbits. Worth a few minutes to "see" history.

A piece of history I got to see while hiking The Great Glen Way, and it is also accessible via car. Be sure and read up on the history of this castle before you go.

Interesting ruin in a pleasant location beside the river Lochy. A little cold when we were there, but would be pleasant in the summer.

Visited and was overwhelmed by the crumbling ruin. Travelling down the road you are warned that there’s a weak bridge but I reckon it can withstand more than it looks! Ruins, and there’s no other way to describe them, give you a sense and flavour...More

If you arein the area then definitely visit the ruins of Inverlochy! We really love history and old castles/buildings so although there isnt lots there to see, the information boards were informative and we enjoyed looking around and getting some pictures
