Old demolished castle, next to the river, about 5 km from fort william, the exterior walls remain and the outer gardens are well-kept.

The Old Inverlochy Castle dates back to 1280 and has some historic importance. But there hasn't been much effort put into preserving the castle. It's pretty much just a shell now. If you're in the area, it's okay to stop. But don't make it the...More

We visited on a whim as we saw the sign whilst driving past. Impressive ruin, nicely kept and easy to park. There were a couple of information boards but more would be interesting.

The castle was interesting and easy to find but would benefit from more information being available.

A decent set of ruins, eassily accessible and fun to bumble around, you can see tyhe structure of the castle, there is not much left of it.

Easy walk from town. Pretty setting and informative signs around the ruin. There appeared to be a problem with someone camping on the site and driving off the roadway onto the grass. Picture site includes excellent viewing of Jacobite steam train route crossing the river.

Another one of Scotland's many castle ruins which gives you an idea of the way people lived many years ago.
