Visited on the rainiest day. Walked over the bridge to Skye. Rucksack full of water . But happy. Line from Inverness to Kyle is the most scenic you will ever see. Love it.( Kyle is what the locals call Kyle of Lochalsh ).

Lovely line with fantastic views, almost like a heritage branch line that was saved from Dr Dick back in the 60's, friendly staff and the time keeping is very acceptable given the length and geography of the line.

If you want to see the Scottish countryside without having to navigate the narrow road this is a great way. This rail line takes you past many lochs and miles of lush green hills. I'd suggest doing a trip out to Kyle of Lochalsh one...More
