We found ourselves in Paisley and this was on our list to visit. You are asked to make a small donation which is worth it. It is very nice on the inside so do not be put off by the outside. It has a lot of history particularly around the Reformation. So if you have the time do pop in.

The mediaeval Abbey was almost falling down in the 19th century and the buildings attached were notoriously bad slum housing! We should be grateful to those who undertook to rebuild and restore it as they did a great job in preserving this ancient building. It's now a weathertight and welcoming place, with a covered little cloister way leading to the... More

Living in Paisley we are frequent visitors to the Abbey as it is one of my daughter's favourite places. It is of great historical interest, the architecture is something to withhold. There are quizzes for young and old. If you require a sit down after exploring a tearoom and shop are attached all run by volunteers.

Not been in the Abbey for a long time despite living very close to Paisley. Very pleased to experience such a lovely building again. Lovely guides who are happy to help and a very nice shop and tearoom. Wont leave it so long again.

I'm not religious but this place is amazing. Small noises can be exaggerated in certain areas. But the peace-fullness on the inside, of the building, is a total contrast to the hustle of Paisley on the outside.

Visited the Paisley while doing family history. Beautiful Abbey in a lovely city. If you're close I would recommend taking a quick tour.
