Saw the note at the Burns Museum about the monument. Fundraising for full restoration. The monument us a hidden tranquil gem. Lovely medium sized gardens to wander round. The monument is an eyeful. It was god to see it before restoration, will be stunning to go back to. Great for photos.

Thank you for your review, we are hoping to start restoration in the latter half of the year, samples of plaster and paint were taken a couple of weeks ago for analysis to ensure any work carried out is appropriate and that paints and colours match the original work. at present we should be able to do all the work... Visited this place for a coffee and stayed to have a good look round. Very interesting if you have an interest in Robert Burns and they make a good cup of coffee and some nice home baking

The Monument and gardens are lovely and the price includes the museum and cottage which is a short walk. The museum could be made more interesting and it would not really appeal to young children. The is a good eatery

............but not much more to say. The monument needs to renovated. Not a patch on the Mausoleum in Dumfries!!

Thank you for taking time to review the gardens and monument. I am not sure if you visited the museum as part of your visit where you might have been made aware that we are currently fundraising to restore the monument. Work on this will start this year and will take several months and will include restoration and re-interpretation. More

Have visited several times - beautiful gardens and wonderful views of the River Doon and the surrounding countryside. Really enjoyed meandering through the gardens with my friends at Burns Licht - garden pathway lit by nightlights, about every 6 ins, along both sides, in jamjars! would not have wanted the job of lighting them all!

This is a beautiful area in which to discover Robbie Burns. We visited on a day with light rain (it is Scotland), but the beauty of the gardens, the displays and the people shone through.

Had a lovely day out to see the gardens and Brig O Doon The gardens are well kept and gave us plenty photographic opportunities, and as there is no entrance fee (for the gardens) they are a definite place to visit. WE will be returning to enable us to visit the museum as well as Burns cottage, and of course... More

The lush gardens surround the ancient memorial to Robert Burns and give a splendid view overlooking the old Brig O'Doon, over which Tam O'Shanter fled on his mare. The tree species are delightful (I love the Monkey Puzzles) and the gardens are incredibly well tended. Take the time to walk up the street to Burn's Cottage or down the street... More
