Two historic buildings sympathetically merged, make low parks museum a joy. Friendly staff, parking at the door, close proximity to hamilton town centre. Loads of local and Scottish history. From the Covenanters to the cameronians, coal mining to weaving, heavy horses to agriculture, battles to ancient tombs, palaces to mausoleums, the longest echo in Europe, brought to life within this... What a wonderful place to visit. It is surprising just how little you know about a place on your doorstep. Great place to take the kids for a very interesting day out. There is an excellent tearoom within the premises.

Can't believe this has been on my doorstep for so long and have never visited. Situated within the museum (which I can't review as we headed straight to the cafe) across from Asda. The lad at the front desk was friendly and approachable, nice greeting on the way in, cheery farewell on the way out. I'm sure his skills went... More

I've been visiting this museum since I was a child and it keeps getting better. Their displays are very well set out and the information is very interesting. They also do special exhibitions with talking tours of the museum. The staff a very well informed and can answer just about any question. The gift shop also has some weird and... More

I regularly visit this museum and it has always got good interesting exhibitions on local history. There are newer interactive stations which are great for keeping the kids interested. The staff are pleasant and keen to help.

First of all, let me preface by saying this was 2 visits, once to the museum and then 2 weeks later to the mausoleum. At the museum, we went with out 6 year old, we weren't expecting to spend the whole afternoon at the museum, but surprisingly had a really busy couple of hours there. Our son really enjoyed the... A nice little place to visit. I had 2 toddlers with me and they enjoyed it just as much as I did. There was plenty to see and there were some good activities for the kids such as, dressing up and crawling through mine shafts with hard-hats on....great stuff. Didn't try the cafe but it looked nice. Gift shop had... More
