Travelling to Harris with a group of friends (who also happen to be whisky enthusiasts) a visit to Abhainn Dearg was a complete no brainer! We tried to visit in 2015 but were stumped by public transport so it's been a long time coming! It...More

Almost missed this place as no sign visible but it turned out Marko was giving their sign a new coat of paint so it had been taken down. Turned up on spec just as a group were about to do the tour so tagged along....More

Friendly knowledgable host and distiller. I loved the "old school" blend he had. There is a beautiful beachy inlet to walk around just outside the parking lot

We have visited a number of large distilleries recently so Abhainn Dearg was an interesting change. Great to see small distillery operations and business. They are also very environmentally conscious which was nice. Friendly folk.

This is a fascinating little distillery where they still malt their own barley. The still look like they were in someone's backyard distillery but they seem to work just fine. Really looking forward to tasting a fully matured dram!

We were lucky enough to be able to spend a day at the distillery with Marco bottling our own cask that was made 5 years ago. Marco is a very special guy who is passionate about creating whisky in its purest sense. None of your...More

We went as part of our tour to Scotland and was a nice surprise to visit a young local distillery in the highlands. We were met by the owner who showed us around his facilities up close and personal. His oldest whiskey is at 8...More
