We went to the Dervaig site with Stephanie as our ranger. Although the chick had fledged we were fortunate that the male White Tailed Sea Eagle was perched in a tree within sight of the hide. Don't expect to get too close but even though the chick has fledged with luck you will still see either the chick or the... More

Ranger Stephanie Cope was an excellent host for our white tailed eagle watch. She was knowledgeable, friendly and able to answer all our questions about the eagles, other Mull wildlife, life on Mull and a multitude of other topics that cropped up. This was a 60th birthday treat for me and seeing the chick and both adults made it a... More

This was intriguing because we work for RSPB but hadn't revealed this. We thought overall it was a good experience thanks to Debbie's ability to talk about the history of the project and to spot other birds of interest but perhaps because if our background we weren't blown away. However, if you are on Mull before mid-July then I would... More

Lovely station and very friendly knowledgable staff. We had Stephanie ad our guide and she was friendly funny and very accommodating and able to answer all of our eagle (and non eagle) related questions. We were incredibly lucky I'm hat we saw the whole family, the female and the male fledgling and then an hour in the male swooped in... More

This was a well set up station and the staff member was fab but we really expected to see the nest a little more clearly and unfortunately the parents left to fish just after we arrived and didn't return before we left an hour later but we did see them flying before we arrived at the watch. There were plenty... More

Hi, thanks for your review. Glad you managed to see the eagles before the tour - they don't always come along on time unfortunately. Sorry you didn't see the nest too clearly, is varies each year with each location, we move around so much to keep up with the birds, and of course they're safety is priority. Hope you visit... More

This was a wonderful two hours thanks to the Eagles being so obliging! Adult female was on the nest, with the chick, when we arrived. After an hour she flew off to hunt, leaving wonderful glimpses of the chick as it preened. A bit later we spotted her on the ridge above the nest before she wheeled back down. Ranger... More

Hi Carol, Thanks for the great review, sounds like the eagles were showing well for you! Yes, midge repellent is always a good idea, although we do get quite a nice breeze where we are in West Ardhu - thankfully! Hope to see again in the future. Rachel More

Mull eagle watch is an organisation dedicated to protecting and educating people about the fabulous sea eagles on Mull. Some places you have to pay to go with a warden which we have done in the past. However you can go under your own steam with a bit of effort and patience to find the eagles independently. Highly recommended

We saw the reintroduced Sea Eagles in tree tops from the Douart Castle Estate to CraigeNure/ferry transfer coach, Pretty easy to spot from the 50 or so twichers and their cars parked up on approach road to castle!! Whever you believe in the reintroduction of now localy exstinked animals, beavers, (wolves???), birds of prey are very impressive and if they... More

Hi, glad you managed to spot our native White-tailed eagle species, although it sounds like you managed without visiting us at Mull Eagle Watch. White-tailed eagles went extinct fairly recently here in the UK, totally due to human intervention, so we're really responsible for bringing them back to make our country a wildlife rich place to live. They were reintroduced... More

We spent a happy couple of hours watching two eagles looking after their youngster in the nest. We were about 400 meters from the nest providing a good view through the telescopes provided. We would love to have seen them fly off but they were obviously well fed so no luck there. The Rangers provide a lot of interesting information... More
