Visited Calgary Bay in early March 2017 on an overcast, drizzly day yet it still took our breath away, the colour of the water and the white sand would rival any Caribbean destination. To top it off we saw a White Tailed Eagle flying overhead, just stunning.

Travelled with group of 14 to self-catering stay at Calgary Castle, Mull, described as luxurious and well-equipped base. This 'B' listed building is literally falling to bits and we suffered a dangerous fire incident due to an incorrectly fitted log burner, no water - hot or cold for two days, electrical supply consistently tripping out, cutting off washing machines, fridges,deep... Such a beautiful island to visit at any time of the year with wildlife in abundance and fantastic scenery at every turn. One day: on our travels we turned a blind corner away from the rugged wind swept cliffs and from high above we could not believe our eyes as we looked down at this beautiful hemispherical sandy bay.

My children and I visited on a cold, but bright, day during October half term and we had the beautiful white sandy beach to ourselves. The was a small car park at one end with a tiny cafe/ice cream shop that looked as though it had closed for the winter. I imagine it gets very busy at peak times, but... More

I went here as a last minute after thought ans am so pleased I did. Beautiful sand and machair, a wonderful sunset. It was late in the season, but there seemed to be a small shop near the beach.

It was an honour to visit Calgary bay on Canadian Thanksgiving, very fitting for us since we lived in the great city of Calgary (Canada) for many years. The bay is just beautiful and I can see why Col MacLeod fell in love with it all those years ago. The weather was brilliantly sunny and warm the day we were... More
