Lovely place to spend a couple of hours in peace. Bring some lunch and enjoy alongside the lake. There is a nice forest trail as well for you to experience the peacefulness of nature.

On the hottest day of the year we took four kids to the park for a lake swim (age 5-10). The signage isn't that clear as to where one should swim but a very kind local directed us to the best spot. The kids had a ball. I would advise wearing Aqua shows as two of our for little cut.... More

Forested walking area with good scenery over the lake. Some picnic areas also. we only did a short circuit as we had young kids but maps are provided so you can plan what ever walk you want. Park is 10 minutes drive from Cavan approx.

This is a lovely piece of Nature’s real estate with hiking trails and an abundance of peace and quiet. The air smelled sweet and watching the anglers was relaxation personified. Our main purpose for the visit was to see Killykeen Cottage but that is another story.
