A Wet Walk In The Mist

Visited here early on a damp, foggy October morn. Took a soggy walk through a large cow pasture to visit the High Cross and the ruins of the old church and Round Tower. My only... read more

This is a destination visit. It's a long walk from the Dysert ODea Castle and some ruins but well worth it. A most magnificent cross is the marker in the field approaching the church. You must be prepared to climb up and over the church wall on protruding stones. The architecture and stone details are lovely. The cemetery stones are... More

Walk through a field of cows to get to this pretty abandoned church and cemetery. Very picturesque, but nothing spectacular. Quiet, and pretty. There is no fee for this church, but if you want to see the inside of the castle you must pay.

A nice and quiet place near Dysart O'Dea Castle. Old church ruin plus monks' escape tower. Beautiful entrance to church ruin with figures in it. Site used as graveyard.
