Wow. Despite being a Clareman I never knew Temple Cronan existed until I found a photograph of it in a new book on the Burren. Sought it out today and what a find it was. Situated close to Carron village you would never know it existed if it wasn't signposted. Deep in farmland but easily accessible it is amazingly well... More

Beautiful but deceptively hidden gem located in the Burren in County Clare. Watch out for the stone carvings throughout the structure and the ultra rare upright slabs said to contain the remains of St. Cronan?

Small well-hidden place. Near a private farm is a small parking place - from the parking are hiking trails. So dont worry, you cant get lost :). Beware of cow excrement! There are everywhere. Temple is small and there are mysterious stone heads :).

Visited site with family(including archaeologist son and family) most interesting were the stone heads depicting human heads and animal heads. We thought this showed possible paganism and Christianity blending together ( later verified on various web sites) This was a high point of our Burren visit.
