This is an excellent small museum, an interesting collection of quality artifacts, with some excellent explanatory panels. With free entry as well if you have any interest in history and are in Ennis you would be foolish to miss it.

A small and interesting collection explaining important human and geologic milestones that have occurred in the creation of this region. Many interactive exhibits and artifacts will enrich a visitors understanding of county Clare and Ireland's history.

Nice little museum that is free and has some interesting display’s of the region’s history, both ancient and recent. Particularly good is the oral history project display which features Clare residents sharing family stories, some going back to the Great Famine. They also have special exhibits. It takes 30-minutes to one hour to tour the museum. Definitely worth a stop!

An intended 'brief visit’ became an educational experience at The Clare Museum. We had a party from South Dakota doing a 10 day tour of Ireland, taking in West Clare. Wanting lunch at the Temple Gate Hotel restaurant, with its recommended menu and to shop in Ennis for souvenirs to take to the Black Hills, we found the ideal location.... More

I stumbled upon this little gem of a museum and am glad I did. Just wonderful! With many interesting exhibits and information about the local area. And it's free! But do leave a donation. It is situated next to the tourism office, which is also amazing! I highly recommend!

I walk past here every day on my lunch hour and never went inside the front door until yesterday. Very interesting, much bigger than I thought, with additional exhibitions on a second floor. Good history of the geological area, religious history, sport, culture, landscape, people and covering the whole county. Clare is a very interesting county and this museum covers... More

Visited the Museum on a wet Saturday with my children & 3 grandchildren. The museum was ideal for young children (9 & 5yrs) as the size wasn't too overpowering & the fact that everything was close together held their interest. The 9 yr old was able to wander around & look at things that interested him & then come to... More

I have visited this museum several times. There are excellent displays. The staff really make an effort to make you feel at home and will explain anything in more detail if you want more information. There is also tourist information available at the venue and good toilet facilities also.

This is a very charming little museum, centrally located, easy to walk to and very easy to navigate. I felt I knew County Clare better due to this visit.
