Overview
More
University College Cork is one of Ireland’s most prestigious universities. It boasts a vibrant, modern campus with a student experience second to none in Ireland. A learning community where the student is at the heart of everything and the special relationship between student and lecturer is primary to our unique ethos. The campus is located a mere ten minutes walk from the heart of Cork city, a former European Capital of Culture. Cork is listed as a top ten location in the Lonely Planet guide which states it “has always had an unshakeable self-confidence and innate sense of pride”, a description which is equally applicable to the University itself

We did a quick tour and enjoyed it. The old quad is beautiful. Found the ogham stones really interesting. Visitors center was great and the staff at the center were very helpful, friendly and welcoming.

The University campus is extensive with the quad, a large old designed courtyard of prestige being the campus centre piece. Great cafeteria and restaurant and book shop. There are banking facilities. But what I really love are the walks down by the river where an...More

About half an hour's walk from the train station got us to U.C.C. and the Honan Chapel. The Harry Clarke stained glass windows are magnificient, and well worth a visit. The floor of the chapel is interesting too. Had a look at the quad and...More

We were disappointed that only one floor of The Glucksman Gallery was opened but did enjoy a delicious breakfast of baked eggs and scones served by friendly staff. The walks in the college are lovely as is The Honan Chapel.

We walked around the campus on Easter morning. Historic buildings, great Victorian grounds and trees around make this campus a pretty one. There are free tours but as it was Easter Sunday, no tours.

Still as beautiful as ever. New improvements to the Boole are fantastic! Waited for my son who was at open day so had a walk around some familiar places.
