University College Cork is one of Ireland’s most prestigious universities. It boasts a vibrant, modern campus with a student experience second to none in Ireland. A learning community where the student is at the heart of everything and the special relationship between student and lecturer is primary to our unique ethos. The campus is located a mere ten minutes walk from the heart of Cork city, a former European Capital of Culture. Cork is listed as a top ten location in the Lonely Planet guide which states it “has always had an unshakeable self-confidence and innate sense of pride”, a description which is equally applicable to the University itself

We walked in and around the grounds of the university. It was so lovely. The grounds are massive. There was mass in the church as we passed through. Very interesting and certainly a good way to spend an hour or two.

UCC is the centre piece of Cork City where most of the graduates attended from Ireland and foreign countries. It is very interesting to see all the different sites within the college itself.

The Halle pictured is a fascinating old hall with ancient Ogham stones on display. Other places of interest on campus are the beautiful Honan Chapel with its gorgeous mosaics and the Glucksman Art Gallery. All within an easy walk of downtown Cork and plenty of...More

Honan Chapel has outstanding stained glass and decor. Glucksman Gallery is interesting as a building (most of it closed off for a private function when we visited). Pleasant campus, nice to stroll round.

JP Quinn gave an outstanding tour of UCC through the visitors office on a Saturday afternoon. Truly outstanding, informative....Boolean algebra so fascinating ...I have imprinted like a goose on the 0-1 algebra theory. Historical, relevant, educational.

Well worth visiting. For a relatively new university, the campus grounds were beautifully kept, with an abundance of flower beds. The stream that one crosses when entering at the main entrance addes a lovely touch.

I enjoyed walking around the campus and visiting some of the buildings. I had lunch in the student cafeteria and saw a display in the Library.
