Not as good as expected

It was a large building; but it looked more impressive from below looking up at it on the top of the hill than standing right in front of it. I was expecting it to be more ornate. The interior was much more modern than I expected; but it was still quite attractive. I guess that when I saw it from... More

the exterior is almost medieval, or protestant church-like... inside i was surprised by the very modern decor and the quality of the light. the baptismal font is set in a very modern yet very medieval setting... must see

I visited here recently for a funeral and was most impressed by the changes made since my last visit many years ago. The organ which I played at the service was in excellent condition and has an amazing choice of colours which suited the long reverberant acoustic very well. Pay a visit during the main Mass of Sunday at 11:30... More

My sister and I paid a visit to St Mary's and St Anne's Cathedral recently. It was lovely and peaceful and it was nice to sit for a few minutes and ponder . Many locals were calling in . The Cathedral itself is bright and beautiful. The side altars are lovely and are dedicated to the different saints. The main... More

There was gift shop area, but no one was available to assist us. Behind the counter was a map of the church, with several locations of importance. My friend and I just walked around the church, taking photos.

Delightful Regency Gothick cathedrl. The wooden columns must be unique. Well loved and no charge for entry, unlike the protestant counterpart .....

Very lovely church indeed. Nice side altars representing the saints. Even has a small room which provides an informative history of the Cathedral.

The city's Catholic Cathedral looks newer than its 1808 foundation date because it was rebuilt in the 1820s and also extended in the 1960s. It was further changed in the 1990s when the last major refurbishment took place. The present Cathedral is a curious mix of the ancient and the modern - housing craftsmanship from the 19th century alongside that... More

On Monday 8 July, we visited Collins Barracks on the Old Youghal Road. I saw this church in the distance and decided to make our way to it. i haven't been in this church since 2001 and it looked different from my memory. That time, was when St Therese's relics arrived and the church was so full. I don't remember... More
