This place is the perfect spot for a good pint and a catchup with friends. Very rare to have any music and if there is, its in the background, can sit by the fire on a cold winter evening and enjoy the company.

Nice old pub right next to the historic Beamish and Crawford brewery. Cozy, dark wood walls, friendly staff, and good beer. What more can you ask for?

Upon entering and approaching the bar, I was impressed with the selection of whiskeys. Staff were friendly and attentive, as were Maureen and Michael local patrons who were a joy to converse with. A 'must stop in' on your next trip to Cork.

This venue was built in the early years of the 20th century by the Beamish and Crawford brewery which previously operated across the street. The Oval is still in its original condition with an open fire where the smell of peat can sometimes be smelt....More
