Fota Wildlife Park is Cork's most visited Tourist Attraction and has been awarded best family day out in Cork and Munster. The Park is set on 70 acres on the scenic Fota Island in the heart of Cork Harbour only 15 minutes from Cork City (top 10 in the best cities to visit in the Lonely Planet guide's 'Best in Travel 2010').The park is not like an ordinary zoo; here you can come face to face with free roaming animals & birds from all parts of the world. So whether it's a kangaroo that hops in front of you or a ring tailed lemur which jumps down from a tree, each visit is sure to bring its own fantastic memories. In addition to the wonderful array of free roaming animals, visitors also have the opportunity to see highly endangered species such as the Rothschild giraffe, European Bison, Lion Tailed Macaque and Scimitar Horned Oryx, most of them without the obstacle of fenced-in exhibits. This is the most spectacular aspect of Fota Wildlife Park, and is the reason you'll want to spend a full day exploring Ireland's Wildest Attraction.

Fota wildlife park is a good place to make a trip to especially for kids. Plenty of animals to see and the way that the animals are being kept is not restrictive as they have plenty of space to roam around. I was surprised to see animals from The Philippines. It's definitely worth every euro.

Fab day out. Kids had a ball. Lovely open areas for the animals. Few like the kangaroos and peacocks roam freely. Plenty of picnic areas and playground areas. Would definitely go back.

Visited this morning. Fab weather and had great time with my daughter who is 12. Most of the animals were out and was lovely to see some baby animals. Baby bison was very cute.

We visited last Sunday and it is a great place as it doesn't involve a long journey. The animals look so happy and well cared for by staff who love their work . It was a memorable trip as having teenagers it's hard to occupy them but they were happy with what fota has to offer. Food in restaurant is... More

We got lucky with the weather so the whole experience was a blast. We are very sensitive to animal suffering in enclosures but Fota is not your regular zoo. They really look after the animals and invest in education and preservation which is a great thing to see.
