What a fantastic pub. Well worth a visit. You enter through a split stable door and the gorgeous smell of burning peat from the open fire welcomes you in. The Guinness is delightful and we sat on stools under the sloping roof, listening to a...More

You risk becoming part of the furniture as you don't want to leave! The owner is a hoot and his staff also provide great banter. You will definitely feel welcomed and if you're lucky will be treated to some traditional music.

Go for a pint, stay forever. On holiday from US and couldn't have felt more welcome with the pub jam packed with locals on a Friday night. Do yourself a favor and just go. Ask for Annie to pour your Guiness.

We visited the forge pub and basically never left. The atmosphere was fantastic and it's a really historic pub that's been left in a traditional way and it's the better for it. The staff in the pub are very welcoming and we had the fortune...More
