Yes, Port is off the beaten path, beautiful, historic, ghostly, rugged and isolated! What’s not to like! Getting there is half the fun. It takes a while, but, the tiny roads, beautiful scenery and waiting for sheep to get out of the way is part...More

I wanted to go here after reading reviews but don't think it was worth the effort. I travelled from Ardara and it took almost an hour and on old, narrow mountain paths. Now I'm Irish and a farmers daughter so maybe the charm is lost...More

It was beautiful, but took a long time to drive there. There is a hiking path from Glencombkille which we tried to find but couldn't locate it.

The ruins of this village are inherently interesting, but very similar to many others throughout Ireland. What is special about this site is scenery along the long road you travel to get to it, and the coastline when you get there. It is one of...More

The views from here are beautiful. It is a peaceful and calming place to go; it's not crowded. I would come back again.

Right up front if youre not comfortable or prepared to drive down a one lane road for a few miles with oncoming cars, and sheep, then this is not for you. But if you are then you're in for a treat. Two small parking lots...More

Have visited Port at different times of the year and every time it never fails to be stunningly beautiful. If you are lucky enough to be there for a sunset its spectacular.

Not far from Glencolmcille is the deserted famine village of Port - sad to see what was once a small fishing community and now just the walls of a few clusters of cottages. It is in a very beautiful setting and well worth the drive...More

We stumbled upon this by accident recently on a trip to Donegal and stayed overnight in our campervan. It is a magical place however the road is not suitable for travelling in a large campervan! On our way back we ended up in a ditch...More
