Clontarf is a fabulous part of dublin great walks along the coast the walk way has just been completed cycle track is top of the range great views out to the Irish Sea.

This was a nice flat walk well away from heavy Traffic with superb views of Dublin and great sea air.

Beautiful place to take a walk, very scenic and relatively quiet during the week. Linear park by the sea that stretches for several kilometers with access to Dollymount Beach via The Wooden Bridge.

I love walking along the promenade. Lovely views of poolbeg lighthouse and surrounding areas. It's a good place to sunbathe in or to have a picnic.

Nice place for walk at sea. Sea not beautiful. Weather was cold. OK for park my car. Busy place also with shops.

The promenade is lovely when the weather is any way good. Great to go for a walk up to and along the wooden bridge out to Bull Island or up to St Anne’s park farther up the coast.

A great walk especially on a sunny day with a separate cycle path, both are wide enough for everyone to use whether its a run or a stroll. There is plenty of grass for you to lie down or let the kids play. The is also plenty of seats with shelter in case the weather takes a turn for the worse. The views here are amazing.

The seafront from Alfie Byrne Road near Fairview to the Wooden Bridge at Dollymount my at count as one of the most pleasant walks in Dublin. With the sea to one side and the elegant houses of Clontarf on the other, there is nothing nicer than to stroll, run or cycle along this route. The recent reopened Baths, an outdoor swimming pool, bar and restaurant only adds to the pleasure. Whether you are a local or increasing, a tourist, make sure to breathe deeply as you gaze out across the water to the Pigeon house with the twin towers of the former power station, truly an icon of Dublin. The walkway and cycleway form part of the 'S2S', Sutton to Sandycove amenity area of which we are so proud.
There are too many fine eateries to mention but whatever your fancy and whatever your budget do visit. It's perfect at any time f year!

Great walk from the wooden Bridge Down to Our Lady's statue in clontarf best dawn at dusk and you might just get a beautiful sunset

As is our wont, Saturday last found me and the youngest out for a walk along the seafront in Clontarf. Though the weather often is variable the venue is surprisingly weather-proof with frequent shelters in which to seek refuge in the worst of weathers. Though walking is the commonest pursuit, those enjoying running and cycling are common with a dedicated smooth, two way cycle lane extending for much of the length of the promenade out to Bull Island and beyond. Refreshments from the exertion are common with various locations having coffee shops and food available shortly after Alfie Byrne Rd and Vernon Ave. The only downsides to the Promenade are litter in the mornings at weekends, occasional sewage smells and the poor state of repair of some of the public gym equipment.
