Exceptional collection of rare books from every era and culture. We only had about an hour as we planned to see this library combined with our visit to Dublin Castle, but could have easily spent 2 or 3 hours enjoying this excellent display

We toured the free galleries here and saw some absolutely beautiful manuscripts from Beatty's collection. They're divided by type, era, and country of origin. We had a nice chat with a friendly security guard too, who pointed out some of the most interesting pieces in...More

This place is pure magic. The books the History the smell. I've never been so impressed with a collection and then the gardens after to walk around are fab. It's free and totally worth the visit after being in the castle.

This collection located in the grounds of Dublin Castle was the real gem after a disappointing visit to the Book of Kells. It is a beautifully curated collection of amazing manuscripts and artifacts from across the world displayed over three floors. And to add to...More

The collection is really amazing. Quran, Bibles, Buddhism scripts, Chinese, Indonesian, and many more dating to thousands of years ago. The admission is free so do not leave without donating to this amazing library.

Right in the centre of Dublin behind the Castle. Always something interesting to see and a great cafe also.

After visiting the crazy crowded Book of Kells (would do it again though!), might I suggest visiting the Beatty Library. I didn't know anything about it until seeing it in my Lonely Planet guide. It is an incredible library with "books" - papyrus really -...More

Unfortunately there is not external visitor parking at Dublin Castle. There are a good number of sites to park in central Dublin within walking distance of the museum.
