Christ Church Cathedral is one of Dublin's oldest buildings, a leading visitor attraction and a place of pilgrimage for almost 1,000 years. Famous for its breathtaking beauty, magnificent architectural features and wonderful floor tiles, Christ Church is also popular as a venue and is host to many high profile concerts throughout the year. It is home to the tomb of Strongbow, leader of the Normans, who captured Dublin in 1170. The Medieval Crypt, one of the largest in Britain and Ireland, extends under the entire Cathedral and contains The Mummified cat and rat, trapped in the organ in the 1860s. Guided tours, including the belfry, available up to five times a day Monday to Saturday.

My wife and I visited Christ Church Cathedral in August 2017. It is a beautiful Cathedral (much more beautiful than St. Patricks) in the heart of Dublin. It is easily walkable from many of the main attractions and Temble Bar and is well worth a...More

I was surprised to find that there is no Catholic Cathedral in Dublin, but there are two Anglican ones close to each other. Christ Church Cathedral is the larger and more elaborate of the two. Worth taking the time to see.

Did not make it to visit the viking museum, it looked pretty awesome! The church is a very nice sight, about 15 minutes from the o' conel street on foot.

We bought over tickets online so skipped the lines to explore the Cathedral. You need at least 2+ hours because you can easily miss something. It's organized which takes you from the start all the way to the gift shop at the end. Highly recommend!

The cathedral has self-guided tour, and the leaflet listing all the sights inside the cathedral was helpful. We had access to everything except the quire and chancel which were fenced off. Notable sights on the ground level were the Baptistery, prayer chapels and Strongbow's Tomb....More

Attended the 11 AM sung mass. The choir was on holiday for the summer, however there are visiting choirs each Sunday, as well as a visiting cleric presenting the homily. The service is in the Anglican tradition. The Dean of the Cathedral was very warm...More

We had a lovely self guided tour here. There's a step up to get in, but I asked at admissions and a lady kindly brought a portable ramp for my husband's mobility scooter. We enjoyed our visit to this lovely place. There were a few...More

I'm killing some time before my flight, got fed up waiting to get into Dublin castle so I checked the map and this wasn't far away. Being cheaper than the castle entry (prices in photos), entry is instant & it's well worth the money. The...More

Hi. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We'll try to get it fixed as soon as possible. You can buy all of our tickets at the welcome desk, and at this time of year you shouldn't encounter a very long queue. Ruairi
