Visited with some friends and was very disappointed. Such a nice old building but the contents weren’t anything to write home about. 95% of the exhibits were fairly disturbing and there was little info by way of explanation. Cafe was average and overpriced. Shame about...More

Probably is marvellous but i struggled to warm to the Modern Art on show. It is housed in a lovely building being the former Royal Hospital Kilmainham. Building was restored in 1984 and as IMMA in 1991. The garden and surrounds are very neat. The...More

I decided to not put photos up as it would spoil the trip but I’d recommend visiting if you’re into your art. Entry is free and usually lasts about an hour depending on how much you want to take in. The Irish Museum of Modern...More

We spent a wonderful evening here as guests at a reception for a new show. The Minister of Arts spoke, the cocktails were yummy, the company was delightful. Of course, the best part is always the art and exhibits. So Wonderful! Note that this is...More

Normally love visiting modern art museum but all four of us were shocked at how bad this gallery was, we spent an hour travelling there by bus all for nothing … truly shocked at how little was there and how bad it was. Very unwelcoming...More

The permanent collection, alone, is an interesting combination of works in mixed media, photography, and creativity that I found disarming and introspective. The special exhibition currently on display, by a middle eastern woman, was amazing because of the light. Much more interesting than a walk...More

The small but great collection of Lucian Freud makes it absolutely worthwhile to visit IMMA. And cafe serves great food!

Beautiful building, including a lovely courtyard to enjoy a picnic or read, plus formal gardens out the back. Nice cafe available, but exhibitions a waste of time even if you like modern art.

This is possibly the worst modern art museum I’ve ever been too and I’ve traveled all over the world. Don’t waste even 1 minute going here.
