Nothing Special

Mansion House in Dublin was nothing special except it was the residence of the Lord Mayor and has been since 1715. The historic facts were better than the building itself.

For a classy establishment, I really hoped for a better boys room experience. The fundamentals were in place and executed well, good cubicle size with privacy and plenty of urinal options too. Unfortunately, there was a lack of concern about cleanliness - wet tissues stuck to the floor and terrible aroma in the air makes this a 2 star experience.... More

Was here to attend the last day Trivia Night for a Business Conference. The dome shaped hall was amazing with a starry roof and blue lights giving a unique and out of the world experience. The bar was well stocked but very slow in terms of delivering orders. A separate counter for depositing coats and luggage was nice feature.

We had a set dinner of salmon hors d'oeuvres, chicken with potatoes at gratin and a compote dessert. Food and service was good. Servers were polite. Draft Guinness was present along with Pinot Noir.

During a recent stay in Dublin, we were walking the streets of Dublin and came up on the Mansion House. There was a demo going on by some Spanish Students for the Lord Mayor of Dublin. They were building a human pyramid that was almost 30 feet in the air. We had an opportunity to meet the Mayor afterwards and... More

A very attractive building which invites closer examination. Nothing seems to have been spared to preserve its grandeur in contrast to the neglect of so many fine buildings in Dublin which could equally benefit from some renovation or maintenance.

We attended a function in the Round Room at the Mansion House. Excellent accoustics and good catering. Drinks were maybe slightly pricey.

We visited the Mansion House. It is full of history including paintings of each of the Mayors Of Dublin. We were fortunate to have a tour which included private time with the Lord Mayor Of Dublin.

I have been in the round room of the mansion house numerous times between sitting exams for college and more recently for the afters of the Paddys Day festival 5km race. To be brutally honest, the mansion house looks great from the outside but its nothing major on the inside.
