The Irish House party at the Lansdown Hotel made a very enjoyable conclusion to a few days in Dublin.
Impossible to sit still to the music, feet tapping, hands clapping joining in the chorus and laughing. Totally bewitched by the speed of the dancer's feet and legs, not to mention her calm smile while performing at such speed! At the end of the evening one of the musicians gave us a private demo of the Bodhran drum, encouraging us to try it for ourselves.
Great fun and highly recommended.

Booked this prior to leaving home as we wanted to be certain to hear some traditional Irish music and see some dancing and we were not disappointed. Did not eat dinner here so can't comment, but the entertainment frankly exceeded our expectations. It was not a cheesy, touristy show. The music was wonderful, the dancer awesome, and the narrative by the "emcee" was entertaining and informative. The venue was pleasant, casual, and it was nice to be able to bring a drink to your seat.
We stayed near the Temple Bar (Morrison Hotel - review to follow) and I noticed that there were a number of shows in that area also. While I clearly can't comment on any of them I am glad that we chose this venue which is away from that area. Temple Bar reminded us of Bourbon Street, and the main activity seemed to be 20 somethings looking for intoxication. (Been there, done that). So again, totally glad that we booked this show, would recommend without hesitation. Get in early to get a seat near the stage. Slainte!

This was our favorite thing we did in Dublin over our 3 days! We attended only the show portion 8-930pm on our first night in Dublin and it was the best welcome to the town and intro. to Irish music and dancing. My sister and I were also laughing out loud the whole show. We both left and said how we couldn’t stop smiling the whole time because it was just so fun!!

I came to the Irish House Party as a chaperone visiting from the ‘States. We got to enjoy a lovely series of Irish folk songs and participate in some traditional Irish dances while learning about the different types of dances and instruments.
The band were super friendly and professional. The kids absolutely loved it! It was hands down one of greatest highlights of our experience in Ireland. Most of us would gladly come back again.
If you’re looking to have some good ‘crack’ (as the locals say) in Dublin, this is certainly a fine place to do so! 10/10 Cheers!

The Irish House Party Show was an amazing experience, definitely a must see when in Dublin, if you want to have a taste of the real Irish welcome and culture! The atmosphere was very intimate and authentic and all the performers were so talented. The show was really entertaining, we could have watched them playing, dancing, and listening to their stories for hours. Highly recommended!

This was my third visit to The Irish House Party and it keeps getting better. Excellent food in a nice pub, good service and very relaxed atmosphere. We were lucky enough to sit in the first row for the show which was a real treat. It is so entertaining, funny, moving. Terrific music and the dancer Roisin was stunning. The show gives you so much insight into Irish music and dancing in a very intimate setting. You really have to go and see this!

Amazing show with a fantastic meal. They were very entertaining if you want a traditional irish night out then put this on your list. Book in advance it sells out often. Oh and the den bar down stairs is one of the best pubs in dublin.

Had a lovely 3 course traditional Irish dinner before going downstairs to the music and dancing show. 4 amazing musicians and a fabulous Irish Dancer, the night we went. Really engaged with the audience. Superb evening.

We were looking for a good place to bring our family of five with the traditional Irish Music/Culture/Storytelling,
without having to sit in a Pub/Bar in the later part of an evening. This is the Perfect choice for just that!
The food and service were very good in the Den Bar Restaurant, then we were escorted downstairs to a small venue for the entertainment portion of the evening. Wonderful atmosphere, extremely fun and talented entertainers, made us feel right at home!
Thank you for a Great Evening, on our last night before flying home to NY!!

I have just returned from a holiday to Ireland and just wanted to enter a comment about the Irish House Party show I attended in Dublin. This was such a great night for me. After a really nice dinner the guide brought us next door to a really old traditional pub where the entertainment was. There were three musicians one playing my favorite Irish instrument the pipes! During the evening they explained about the music and their experiences and I learnt so much during the night. We even did some Irish dancing!! The guides were really funny. Definately something I would recommend doing if you go to Dublin.

Is this a good option for pre-wedding party? We have about 70-80 guests coming (big partiers, mostly in their 30s). This would be a "welcome to Ireland" party a couple days before the wedding. Thoughts?

What is the attire for this event? Do men specifically need a coat and tie/women a dress? Thanks!

How should we dress for this evening dinner/event?

No , that's what I was expecting also .. The chairs were lined up like an audience to watch and listen .. They talked , sang and one of the performers danced a jig.. We did sing along to one song I beliieve.. Food was server upstairs and show down stairs .. There is a bar in the other room that you are able to go get drinks and bring into the show.. The show was good, food was good but if your looking for a more lively show with participation this is not it.

We won't have a car while in Dublin, and we would be doing this on our very first day there when we are first getting familiar with the city. Is this venue easy to get to via public transportation, and will it still be running when the show finishes? Thanks!
Written March 22, 2015
Cabs will be running all times, easiest option. Great selection of drinks in the pub area too to try, so get there a bit early if you can.
