This is a very special Oratory in Dun Laoghaire. It is beautifully decorated and Sr Concepta's art will thrill any artist. Most poignantly the chapel was built as a memorial to Irish lads who died in France during WW1. A French village gave a statue...More

Recently, I took a Summer of Heritage tour of this oratory to see the beautiful paintings that were drawn by Sr. Concepta Lynch nearly a century ago. It is amazing.

Prepare to be amazed. The guide was really knowledgeable on the history of the oratory and the art contained. Unfortunately tours of the oratory are only available at particular times. The tour is free and takes about 45 minutes. Only 15 are allowed at a...More

A stunning oratory everyone should try and see. Sister Concepta Lynch painted on the walls over 16 years between the wars. This is probably the finest example of Celtic revival art in the country. Open sporadically for free tours and well worth a visit.

A must see, not always open to the public. Keep an eye out for Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council open days/seasons including 'Spring Into Heritage' and Autumn openings. It often opens during Open House Dublin in October also. The Oratory Chapel was painted by Sister Concepta...More

The Oratory is not often open to the public but usually is in July or August as part of the DLR Heritage events. If you can catch it, don't miss it, it's an astonishing feat of decoration, carried out by one woman over a period...More

We had our annual twinning visit from the Rotary Club of Lurgan from Belfast . One of our Rotarians organized that the Oratory be opened and one of the longest serving Nuns gave us a tour inside the Oratory. It does open during the Summer...More
