Everywhere we went in the country, horse racing was on TV. The love affair of the island with horses and racing is apparent if you know where to look. The stands and course are massive, and like most of Ireland, there's a ruined tower in the middle of it. Because it wasn't the July meeting, food options were limited. The... More

We spent two September days at the races and, having visited many other courses, have to say that this place is one of the best: for atmosphere and value. It started when I phoned from England with a dietary request and this was managed with ease: the seating was just as we asked and couldn't be faulted. Great management. We... More

Went to ballybrit for a day and had a great time . Only drawback was it was late opening [had to wait in car park for 30 minutes ] . It was due to open to public 2 hours before the first race but the staff were late . The bars were also late to open and we found the... More

Until you'vebeen to galway during race week you haven't really had the whole experiance. It's a real celebration of racing at it's finest and all of the fun and finery that comes with it. Don'tleave it until the last minute to travel out to the race course as traffic can be crazy with tail backs.

We went to the track on Monday night which was family night. Less crowded from what I was told. It's different than a horse track in the United States so worth your time if you like horse racing. Betting is slightly different and cash is a must just like in the states.

We had a fantastic day at the Galway Races last week. We went on Friday evening which is less busy than the Thursday (ladies day!) I thoroughly recommend this for a day out.

Busy spot! Good entertainment put on and well organised buses back into Glaway City. Guinness tent was best!
