Take a jarvey through the park to ross castle. ( a lot of fun) you can park a car near it and walk to the castle, as well. This is a great place for photographs, as it sits on a lake against a mountainous background. Go near sunset for great shots and views of deer and wild life. Every season... More

Took a quick visit to Ross Castle while staying in Killarney. A short distance from Killarney town centre. Beautifully restored with breathtaking natural surroundings. The guide who took our group around the Castle was very well informed and made the tour very interesting. Even my 12 and 13 year old children enjoyed the tour.

We walked rather than drive as we were staying in Killarney town. Its about mins from Killarney but well worth the walk. The Castle itself is in a wonderful location right on the lake and the views are unbelievable, particularly when you have a sunny day as we had. There are boat rides available and plenty of space for kids... More

Great place for kids to run through the outer edges of a castle and climb (with mom or dad) and experience the feel of a castle. Easy to get to, easy to hang out near the water, great photo site. Loved the castle and the history is always interesting.

Beautiful castle on a lake, that's very close to heart of Killarney. We walked it, but it was about a 30 minute walk. Beautiful views. We got there when it was closed, so check times if you want a tour.

A calm little spot with breathtaking views of the castle & stretching lake. It's a nice walk through the national park to get here, though you can also get there by horse cart for a small fee (good idea for groups). Be sure to bring your camera!

Ross Castle is always on our list of things to do in Killarney. You can drive quite close for those who want to see the castle but don't wish to walk too far. The beautiful stone work of the castle is stunning. A great adventure for little people too. Great walks lead from here. Also good for cycling around here.

We did the Ring of Kerry and started our day here, just before the crowds. After full day of sightseeing, we ended back here to watch the sunset -after the crowds. Beautiful place and so peaceful.

Free. Ducks. Places for kids to run around. Boat rides, horse drawn carriage rides and a cool castle. Oh yah, long views of the lake, too. I would easily do this again. Well done.
