Monday morning - very peaceful trip.Hardly anyone there - no screaming children so it was a pleasure to come across this building. The guides are self-explanatory and just the right length. There are a lot of stairs just in case someone has access problems, but...More

You will get a printed small guide and can do the visit at your own pace, although it's not very long. It was a family mansion, so there are the old rooms, the garden and even a duck.

Well worth a look. This old palace has been beautifully restored. The garden is beautiful and the rooms and courtyards look straight out of a medieval fantasy film.

This 15th century house has a fantastic garden laid out at thr rear of the property with orchards and a herb garden .House itself is sparsely furnished and a bit higgly piggly but well worth a visit.

Unusual house presentation with different periods of history represented. Beautifully and unexpectedly large garden behind it is the star though, beautiful even on a wet day (provision of brollies was thoughtful!).

If you have time, I would check this house out. Very unique in the way it was built. I think the gem is the garden in the rear of the property. It was very unexpected.

A very interesting restoration of medieval houses. Well worth the time and money and don't miss the gardens at the back.

Very quaint medieval house with a number of courtyards. Nice café too. Well worth spending an hour walking through the house.

Mu husband and I toured the rothe house while visiting Kilkenny city. It was a unique experience that provided a lot of preserved history. The house and garden is beautiful and a true hidden gem within a touristy city.

Allow 1-2 hours, that should be sufficient, but if you are on a whirlwind tour like a lot of Americans who come here, see the castle first, enjoy the touristy shopping mall opposite the castle, the high street and the... More
