Interesting home preserved in the city center. The size is deceiving from the street view as it looks small. It does to cost much to visit, but it is self guided and no time limit. There are three floors and a garden to explore which...More

The tours of Rothe House and Garden are self-guided and we found it easy to ramble around at our leisure using the information booklet provided. It is a relatively small attraction but we spent at least an hour looking around and you certainly left with...More

I love getting a sense of the history of a town or building. Roethe House provided this--and the work they have done to re-create the format of the original garden is impressive.

We lost our money and our time there. Say free and you have to pay €5.50 by person. Inside the house is a collection of different things from different places and years. The house doesn't have a really history. The house show a dog's bones,...More

Quite interesting, especially the garden which has been totally restored from having been a derelict site.

Rothe house does not sell itself from the outside and we probably would have walked past had it not been for a recommendation from a fellow traveller. The house, or houses to be more exact, extend up a long thin plot of land ending in...More

The houses are nothing special, just empty shells. But the garden is amazing, with many specie of old plants.

Enjoyed our self tour of Rothe House and its history - great example of merchants house and its extensions as the family grew. Quite a lot of history and lovely gardens out the back which have been re created.

Allow 1-2 hours, that should be sufficient, but if you are on a whirlwind tour like a lot of Americans who come here, see the castle first, enjoy the touristy shopping mall opposite the castle, the high street and the... More
