We visited this many years ago in its derelict state and even then is was a lovely place. The works done over the years have really elevated the demesne and its is magical to walk around and take time out. Well worth the trip.

We spent few hours walking the gardens today and all family absolutely loved it. Great photo opportunities and great place to spend time with a family. The gardens provides neverending chances of spotting rare plants all over the place. The cafe is a nice spot to chill out, and the nearby swing lets parents get some time off. Picnic area... More

We are a family of 2 adults with teenage boys. We spent a couple of relaxing hours walking around this estate and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It is a very special place with lots to see and take in. A must for garden lovers. Our lads really enjoyed the bamboo tunnel network, which is very clever.

Despite still slowly undergoing restoration, the gardens are a credit to those that work there. The variety of trees alone deserve a visit, and with the walled garden, the monkey puzzle and woodland walks, it's a must, and only €4/car (half the price of Wells House). The tea conservatory is beautiful, but not open on our visit.

A fabulous garden maintained and kept to a hight standard with interesting and fascinating features. Best on a bright day. Toilets on site but tea rooms not open (shame). Small children's play area and tables to picnic. Beware the car park, its not the charge that's the problem its the fact that people were getting stuck as they didn;t have... More

Lovely grounds, well sign-posted from main road - could do with a nice comfortable coffee shop to accommodate visitors who would like to sit and savour their surroundings

We visited these beautiful gardens upon the recommendation of our B and B host and it did not disappoint. We were lucky to meet a kind gentleman who lives on the property who took the time to give us a personal tour. So lovely even in late fall--I will never forget it.

We go here often for a really pleasant walk through the grounds. It suits all ages and has a playground and picnic area that would suit for family picnics etc. During the daytime there is a toilet. just make sure that you have € in euro coins to pay on exit! or you may have to ring the caretaker to... Went in November which is not the best time to visit a garden. However, the wilder walks are well worth doing but be prepared, some are challenging physically. Did get to sample the cafe delights as it was closed for the winter. Needs to be a dry day.

Having read about this place we decided to have a walk and we were not disappointed. The Monkey Puzzle walk was very impressive. The coffee shop in the garden is quite unique and unforgettable. If the weather permits seating is available outside. Staff at coffee shop and in the gardens were very helpful. I would class this as one of... More
