Overview
More
Charleville castle is a building which has been rescued from near ruin by volunteers and a voluntary organisation - it has been described as Irelands leading historical architect, Francis Johston's masterpiece. It is maintained authentic and unchanged and we rotate volunteers to mind it 24 hours a day 365 days a year - but also to keep it open to the public. it is famous for its ghosts stories and unique architecture - but it is not a state-funded project and depends entirely on volunteers and supporters - so many people, thousands, have expressed their love of the building and support - we hope you will get a real feeling of what it is to keep a castle like this alive when you visit - see you here!

I loved this place so much! The wedding pictures we got taken here were fantastic. Dudley was very reasonable and kind to allow us in to the castle at a tiny expense. I would highly recommend this venue for pictures.

This Castle is absolutely stunning! Unfortunately when we rang the bell nobody was there to answer to do a tour inside. Spent probably about 15 minutes outside walking around looking at the different flowers and rose bushes. The lane leading up to the castle was...More

The interior of the castle is stunning, Gothic wonders. I visited last weekend when the surrounding woodlands were covered in a purple haze of bluebells, not to be missed! Lovely place for a walk, lots of pathways through the trees.

A nice little parkland surrounds this castle, I went into the front gate of the castle itself but it appeared to be closed, and there was some kind of building work going on, wouldn't have minded having a look around from what I have seen...More
