Very interesting walk around the old part of the city. 3D model of the Viking Triangle outside Waterford Crystal. Watch outt for blue and white plaques on buildings commemorating famous people born in the city. Watch out for the giant chess men in Cathederal Square. Traveling from the US, we were told Waterford is one of the oldest cities in Ireland. With that in mind we saw it for what it was - a great, old town. We liked the quaintness and history. The triangle was neat and there are some nice photo ops within it.

This area is entertwined with regular buildings. It's all run down and has construction scaffoldings all over it. You can't really see anything. No good shops or restaurants. A total wast of time.

There is no real 'Viking Triangle' and never has been. The area is a recently designed and artificially created sector to maximise the financial exploitation of tourists. I call it 'The Milking Parlour', because like in a modern milking parlour cows are milked in the fastest possible time, the same treatment is given to tourists in the 'Viking Triangle'. It... More
