We had no idea what to expect when we dropped in on the off chance. Wow, what a surprise; free parking, free entry to the park and grounds (weekdays only I think). The Walled garden was beautiful and the grounds a photographers dream.

Ripley Castle remains a family home and is all the better for that. The house can be seen via a guided tour, which was very interesting and well presented by the guide, and the house itself has a fascinating history. There are all the trappings...More

Our U3A gardeners' group visited Ripley Castle on a day which promised to be dull and damp, but turned out beautiful. We didn't go in the castle, but took advantage of the free weekday access to gardens and park. There was much of interest in...More

My daughter had her wedding reception here three weeks ago. From the first discussions with Ripley over a year ago to the day after the wedding nothing was too much trouble for them. The staff were amazing, both leading up to the wedding and on...More

Ripley Castle is not spectacular or amazing in any particular way but taken together with attractions in the village makes for a very pleasant half day visit. There is a large free carpark as you come into the village, a very good tea room within...More

Ripley castle and Ripley church are really worth a visit. The church is packed with history. The castle guided tour is most informative. We spent a good four hours in Ripley.

This is a manor house set in acres of space, with associated shapes and cafes housed in the out buildings. The tour of the house takes in the tudor tower and explains the interesting family history of the Ingleby strain. Particularly their part in the...More

We attended a family wedding at the castle. It was fantastic. The staff were attentive. Food excellent. We stayed over night at the boars head inn so had reduced entrance into the castle and grounds. We were glad we took advantage of this. The guided...More

I don't remember too much walking, more standing around. The staff were very helpful I'm sure they'll provide chairs for sister. Enjoy😊

Sorry just seen this. If it's not too late, the tour takes a good hour and you don't need to book in advance. I would definitely recommend the tour to hear the fascinating history of the house.
