As you pass through the glass fronted entrance hall you experience an inner calm and peace in oneself. There is a beautiful altar window as you enter the far end of the cathedral and the floor is highly polished with fossils, such as ammonites, appearing in its surface. A visit well worth visiting whilst wandering around Ripon.

Delightful historical city of Ripon which is certainly worth a visit. The cathedral alone is highly impressive & captivating in the standards of design & architectural excellence from a bygone era.

Beautiful cathedral and well worth a visit. We popped into the cathedral and enjoyed the calm. The xathedral architecture is a magnificent feature in Ripon.

This place has to be on your list of things to see in Ripon. I would not say I am religious. but when you walk in the architecture and history will take your breathe away Defiantly worth an hour or two.

Although the Cathedral is worth a visit, Ripon itself is probably not. I think this is reflected in the car park charges, £1.60 for up to four hours. The cathedral had free entrance and the lady guide was very helpful.

I loved this place. So beautiful and peaceful. There's something about old cathedrals like this one that just make me want to sit and enjoy the moment.

On holiday in Harrogate and decided to get bus to Ripon. A visit to the Cathedral was a must. We were greeted by a verger on entry and given a brief history of the place which was stunning. There were people doing guided tours free and were very informative. Donations only were required. Brilliant visit and made very welcome.

We love visiting Ripon and the Cathedral is a must for a visit. It is free to go inside and a voluntary donation is requested. There is an information sheet you can carry around so you don't miss the important things and a visit to the crypt is a must if you can manage the steep steps. There is so... More
